Shaun Anderson joined AMETS in 2021. He has a diverse background with initial experience and qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning but decided that the ground the cities were built on was more interesting. He completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Geology and Spatial Science from QUT in 2016 with high distinction, with his thesis focused on granites (thesis).
He has worked for Santos as a vacation student and for junior and mid-tier mineral exploration and mining companies both private and listed along with geological consultants. He has worked in FIFO, campaign, and DIDO roles in predominantly Queensland but also has spent time working and living in NSW. Shaun has also worked on contracts (both field and desktop) in WA, Chile, Argentina, and Indonesia.
Shaun brings to AMETS a working knowledge of the demands that geology teams face and is adept at meshing the needs of geology teams into the restrictions and requirements of databases, GIS systems, and statutory compliance and translating information spatially whilst keeping the backend of those systems in good standing. He is passionate about the QGIS GIS platform and relishes the opportunity to bring the benefits of this software to clients and the AMETS team.
