Leanne Brock
CEO | Managing Director
Leanne Brock founded AMETS in 2008 with a deeply personal purpose – to put a roof over her sons’ heads, food on the table, and provide them with a good education. What began as a lifestyle business has grown into a respected consultancy serving exploration and mining clients across Australia and internationally. This growth is a testament to the quality, consistency, and shared values of the exceptional team Leanne has built.
With over 37 years of industry experience, Leanne is a trusted leader in tenement management and regulatory compliance. She is passionate about empowering her staff, actively investing in their professional development to build knowledge, confidence, and capability across the business. Her leadership is grounded in the core values of trust, integrity, transparency, resilience, and success – principles that shape both client outcomes and company culture.
Leanne believes that delivering the highest quality service requires more than technical expertise; it demands a holistic, solutions-focused approach operating with consistency, congruency and transparency that meets the evolving needs of regulators, landholders, Traditional Owners, communities, and clients alike. Through this lens, she continues to lead AMETS with purpose and heart, ensuring the business remains responsive, responsible, and respected across the resource sector.
It’s my shout for morning tea, how do you take your coffee?
Almond latte half strength (the brand of almond milk needs to be MILKLAB).
What is it that you do at AMETS?
I am ‘Boss lady’ I was nicknamed this by one of our late staff members, Cristel Donovan.
What do you love about your position?
I get to really support my staff in helping them solve our client’s problems, allowing them to focus on what they really need to do – getting on the ground and doing geology. The challenge is so rewarding as I get to lead my staff and help them with their professional growth whilst being a stay at home parent.
How do you spend your time when you are not at AMETS?
Family time with my boys, thinking about my next travel plans, cooking, reading, friend coffee/lunch/brekky catchups. I seem to always have something going on. I do like my own company so find myself wandering around homewares stores often with a cup of my favourite coffee.
What are you most grateful for?
I am most grateful for being able to be a stay at home mum whilst continuing a career, being available for my two boys.
What do you love most about being an Ametarian?
When I look back to where we started and where we are today, I am so proud of who we are today. We set our values and standards right from the start and we are constantly rewarded by an amazing team and clients. They honestly really are the best. They are committed in helping each other to meet the client’s needs and they go above and beyond to deliver quality outcomes. I love how they all contribute and collaborate to AMETS by the sharing of ideas to improve how we do things, pass on feedback from clients which inspires and motivates us all, and last of all, but certainly not the least, the solid relationships they build with the clients. I totally agree with Richard Branson – “if you take care of your employees, they will take care of the clients.”
What is your ideal holiday?
One that I can sit and relax, no schedules, no commitments, take the day as it comes. Love spontaneity!!!
Which three things do you take to a deserted island?
I actually have no idea!! I don’t think I could limit it to only 3 things.
Do you have a favourite quote?
I guess I have come across a few quotes over time and if there was one that sticks is: “It is what it is”.
A couple others I love are:
“The greatest glory in living, lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall” – Nelson Mandela. We must make mistakes as this is the only way we learn.
“If someone offers you an amazing opportunity and you’re not sure you can do it, say yes then learn how to do it later” – Richard Branson. Absolutely, if we don’t know the answer at AMETS or how to do something, we will find out!!
Is there anything else about working for AMETS that you think the world should know?
I started AMETS with a view to put a roof over my family’s heads, educate the boys and put food on the table. This was my one and only goal. Never did I ever imagine having a business this successful. This work/life balance lifestyle has been so rewarding to me, being able to be there for my boys growing up, attending school performances, reading support groups, sporting events and camps. As the company has grown, I have been proud to be able to offer the same lifestyle opportunity to others, both men and women, who all appreciate the flexibility it provides for their families.
