Mineral Resources Tasmania (MRT) has released the latest update to its “Reporting Guidelines for Mineral Tenements” (August 2025).
MRT has updated its guidelines to streamline the reporting process and ensure all submitted data is standardised. Tenement holders should consult the new MRT Reporting Guidelines-August 2025 for full details.
KEY CHANGES
- Data Submission: Old media types like CDs and DVDs are no longer accepted. Reports must now be submitted on portable hard drives, USB drives, or tape cartridges. All media must be clearly labelled with the tenement number, company name, report type, and period covered.
- Standardised Data: All reporting datum must be standardised to MGA (GDA94). MRT continues to require the use of templates for submitting drilling data, including information on drill collars, geochemistry, and lithology.
- Geochemical & Geophysical Reporting: New requirements for the submission of original laboratory reports as PDF files, which include detailed QA/QC data and analytical methods. Additionally, passive seismic survey data must now be submitted in miniSEED format with instrument response information in StationXML.
