Resources Victoria has recently released the Former Mines and Quarries Framework Consolidated (FMQF) database that delivers a state-wide management framework. This groundbreaking database consolidates information on abandoned and legacy mine and quarry features across Crown land in Victoria, totalling 111,083 recorded features.

The FMQF is a crucial step forward in managing these sites, enhancing our understanding of their locations and potential risks to public safety. The Victorian Government is actively addressing these challenges to ensure safer communities and sustainable land use.
