John Howard
Reporting Geologist/GIS Mapping
John Howard joined AMETS in 2021, bringing over 20 years experience in mining and exploration. As an exploration geologist, John worked for most of Australia’s major coal and gas producers right across NSW, Victoria and Queensland. Over that time, John progressed from Rig Geologist to Training Manager and Operations Manager roles, and was responsible for implementing systems and procedures which allowed the consulting company he worked for to grow from three geologists to over 100 employees.
John has also spent five years working as an Environmental Scientist, providing advice and government-compliant reports for a number of development projects, including major government infrastructure.
John holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Geology from the University of Sydney, and a Diploma of Petroleum Engineering from the University of NSW. He has strong data management and reporting skills, and a thorough understanding of the on-ground realities of exploration geology.
