Nerida McWhirter joined AMETS as General Manager – Tenures and Geoservices and Principal Tenement Manager for South Australia and NSW in March 2024. She completed a Bachelor of Laws from Murdoch University in 2008 and has over 20 years of experience in the legal and mining industries.
Nerida has extensive expertise in tenement compliance, due diligence, acquisitions, global land review, and people management. She has worked across a wide range of mining and energy renewable projects, including iron ore, lithium, nickel, gold, hydrogen, geothermal, solar, and wind. Passionate about providing application, land access, infrastructure, and strategic advice from initial planning stages through to operations, Nerida is a dedicated professional in her field.
Nerida regularly attends industry events and conferences throughout Australia, where she engages with other industry professionals, shares her insights, and stays updated on the latest developments in the mining and energy sectors. Her active participation in these events ensures she remains at the forefront of technological advancements, regulatory changes, and industry best practices, which she leverages to provide cutting-edge solutions and strategic advice in her role.

The diversity of assisting small to large clients to grow their portfolios or strategy to keep their tenements in good standing and working with a team of like-minded professionals.
How do you spend your time when you are not at AMETS?
Enjoy spending time catching up with family and friends, watching AFL, keeping fit and heading out on the water at any opportunity.

Mixture of fun and relaxation anywhere on the coast.
