As we reflect on the past year, the AMETS Victorian Team is delighted to share the strides we’ve made in growth, collaboration, and industry participation. From welcoming new team members to actively engaging with industry events, it has been a year of accomplishment and strengthened connections.

Team Growth and Expertise
Our team in Victoria continues to flourish with the addition of Jemma Carter and Kate Sherman, both Tenement Officers dedicated to ensuring the seamless operation of our services under the guidance of Belinda Ingram.
In September 2023, AMETS Tenements & Geoservices welcomed new Geologist, Luke Rebbechi, in the role of Geoservices – Approvals, bringing with him Victorian specific experience in Low Impact Exploration (LIE) work proposals, land access, and community engagement.
Industry Engagements
Attendance at Key Events
We actively participated in significant geological-focused conferences, including the Victoria Gold Mining & Exploration Forum in Melbourne in February and AIG Minerals Round-Up in Ballarat in June. In November we were also invited to an engaging workshop with the DJAARA in Bendigo. These events provided valuable insights into the future of exploration and mining in Victoria, as well as opportunities to connect with clients and hear about their successes.
Collaboration with Industry Bodies
Our commitment to collaboration remains strong. We continue to work closely with AMEC and ERR through regular committee meetings and stakeholder consultation groups. Additionally, we’ve joined Minerals Council Australia, further expanding our participation in the industry.
Advocacy and Industry Improvements
AMETS is actively committed to working with ERR, AMEC, MCA, and industry groups to improve the minerals licensing process. This includes advocating for reduced approval timeframes and modernising licensing work practices. This is particularly important with key changes under the Victorian Government’s Mineral Resources (Sustainable Development) Amendment Bill 2023, detailing the introduction of a new duty-based, risk tiered regulatory model to replace the current work plan approvals scheme being rolled out over the next four years.
Expanded Services & Relationships
Service Offerings
In response to evolving client needs, we’ve expanded our services to include secretarial functions, such as attending meetings with ERR and stakeholders, recording and distributing minutes, and following up on actions from meetings. All our Tenement Management & Geoservices offerings are available Australia Wide.
Relationship Building
Our team has been dedicated to strengthening relationships with government departments and Native Title parties, fostering collaboration and open communication.

Client Portfolio Growth
We’re proud to maintain our strong Victorian client base with AMETS now managing 54% of all Exploration Licences and 43% of all Prospecting Licences held in Victoria. We have also increased our client portfolio by 25% over the last twelve months.
As we embrace the opportunities of the coming year, we extend our heartfelt thanks to our clients, partners, and the Victorian community for your continued support.
Here’s to another year of collaboration, growth, and shared success in 2024!
