Christian Leidersdorff
Geoservices Manager
Christian Leidersdorff joined AMETS in July 2024 as the Geoservices Manager where he leads geospatial initiatives and ensures the delivery of high-quality geospatial products and services. Christian is a geospatial professional with over 16 years’ experience with geospatial analysis and geology. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Geology with a co-major in Environmental Science from the Queensland University of Technology. Prior to joining AMETS, Christian’s previous roles specialised in quality assurance and control of geospatial products and geochemical databases, leveraging advanced tools and technologies to enhance data accessibility and efficiency.
Christian also has extensive experience managing diverse projects across South America, Africa, and Australia as a Senior GIS Consultant and Project Geologist. He is known for his analytical expertise, problem-solving skills, and effective communication with stakeholders at all levels. Christian also has a proven track record of mentoring both staff and clients, and collaborating with international teams.
Christian brings to AMETS a deep understanding of geospatial requirements and a passion for adopting new technologies to improve efficiencies and modernise geospatial services. These foundations enable him to lead geospatial initiatives and ensure the delivery of high-quality geospatial products and services.

I don’t drink coffee, but enjoy a hot chocolate or a black tea.
What is it that you do at AMETS?
I am the new Geoservices Manager leading a skilled Geoservices team to support all AMETS business needs.
What do you love about your position?
AMETS is a friendly and inviting team environment. I am excited to bring my expertise and experience to help create great opportunities for AMETS and its clients.
How do you spend your time when you are not at AMETS?
I enjoy spending time with my family and sharing my passion for science and problem solving with my kids.
What are you most grateful for?
My wonderful family and access to technology that makes it possible to talk to family halfway around the world.
What is your ideal holiday?
Going on a trip away with my family to the beach, where we can explore different parts of our country. I also love to travel the world and look forward to visiting my family overseas to celebrate a white Christmas.
Which three things do you take to a deserted island?
My family, a paddle board and a lot of sunscreen!
What do you love most about being an Ametarian?
Collaborating with talented individuals and learning from their experience.
Do you have a favourite quote?
Save early and save often – it has been my mantra my whole life working with technology.
