Kyen Knight
Administration Geologist
Kyen Knight joined AMETS Geoservices team in March 2025 as Administration Geologist, working on technical reporting, GIS mapping and analysis, work program and mineral tenement approvals.
Kyen is a Geologist and Geophysicist with over 14 years of experience in Australia’s mineral resource industry, in private and public sector roles as Geophysicist, Exploration Geologist, Senior Geologist, and Database Geologist. Kyen has extensive practical experience in mineral exploration project planning, project management, data compilation and management, data analysis and reporting. He holds a Bachelor of Science majoring in Geology and Geophysics and has completed Honours in Geophysics at the Centre of Ore Deposit and Exploration Studies, University of Tasmania.
Kyen has over 11 years of Geoscience database management experience, utilizing and administering a wide range of database management systems. He is a proficient GIS software user and has experience working with a wide range of geological modelling software applications.
In the role of Government Database Geologist for the Tasmanian Geological Survey, Kyen has attained a detailed understanding of mineral exploration and mining legislation and the administration of tenement processes. Through his knowledge of tenement assessment processes Kyen has had a leading role in policy development, the redevelopment of assessment processes and drafting of guideline documents, in particular activity reporting and data submission standards.

The wide range of tasks and being able work on projects across all of Australia.
How do you spend your time when you are not at AMETS?
If I’m feeling adventurous hiking in the forest, exploring the coast and swimming (if the water is warm enough).
What are you most grateful for?
Sharing peaceful and inspiring moments with my family and friends.
What is your ideal holiday?
Being on a deserted island where I can explore and rest.
Which three things do you take to a deserted island?
My diving gear, comfortable shoes and a boat (when I get tired of island life).

Being part of a kind, skilled, professional team.
